The Improvers course, tutored by Amanda Burke, covers what a digital SLR camera needs to know to be familiar with their camera and also to be in control of the manual settings on the camera so that they can be creative with their photography. The course also covers advanced aspects of editing the digital image in order to maintain quality and to decide how to enhance the original captured photograph where needed or desired.
Students are encouraged to appreciate the importance of the printed image as is reflected by an exhibition to mark the end of the course. They are also encouraged to further their interest by becoming active members of Kilkenny Photographic Society as their potential as individual photographers can be of value to a larger body of enthusiasts.
